* AFTER SEVERAL MONTHS OF PROCRASTINATION AND LAZINESS, I’M FINALLY POSTING THE LAST FEW INSTALLMENTS OF MY LONDON SERIES!! I HOPE YOU ENJOY IT
This will probably be my shortest post out of all of the past bog posts… so prepare yourself.
This week in particular was quite short for me school-wise. Since we had Monday off for Easter, I only had a four day week and it was still quite eventful.
With all the traveling I had done over the past three weeks, I needed to take a break and unwind from all the stresses of traveling and continue to explore London.
With my travels through Paris and Zurich, I had the most intense craving for macarons and ended up going to Covent Garden for a box. With all the craziness over the past couple of weeks, it felt nice going somewhere more familiar to me and a place in London that I really enjoy as well. Covent Garden continues to be one of my favorite spots in London.
On Tuesday, I went to see Wicked for the first time at the Victoria Apollo theatre, which was amazing… you could even say the show… defied gravity. Yes, the music, the choreography, the plot, and the singing were all incredible and I definitely want to see it again when its playing in California. I had always wanted to see it, but made excuses since it plays far away from where I live in California, but I made the effort to see it here.
In BLC this week, we talked about the British Empire and the colonization of the entire world during the 19th century. It was interesting to learn about, especially seeing the amount of Indians in London since they were one of the important colonies in the Empire. After learning about it, I headed off to Brick Lane, home of the Bengali community and many, many indian restaurants. As a member of the Bengali community myself, It was nice to see how the culture and the people have assimilated into the city and the important role they play within the London culture.
That was my tenth week here in London!! Tune in next week for more of my adventures! Cheers!
