* AFTER SEVERAL MONTHS OF PROCRASTINATION AND LAZINESS, I’M FINALLY POSTING THE LAST FEW INSTALLMENTS OF MY LONDON SERIES!! I HOPE YOU ENJOY IT
Ahh it’s finally my 11th week here in beautiful London. It’s hard to wrap my head around that I will be back in only two weeks time, As we get closer and closer to the end of my time here, I have been trying to squeeze in as much as possible and to enjoy the city.
On Tuesday, I went to see The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time with some of my friends. It’s a play about a boy with Aspergers trying to find out who killed Wellington, his neighbor’s dog. He ends up finding himself in London at one point and it was really relatable. Though I don’t personally struggle with Aspergers, I was able to empathize with being overwhelmed when being on your own in a new place for the first time. The show was a little hard to follow since it jumped around so much, but it was a lovely show overall.
Friday was the day trip to Brighton. I headed out with my friends over to finally see the beach after being deprived for three long, agonizing months. The moment I stepped out of the coach and smelled the salty, fresh air and the cooling sea breeze, I felt right at home. As much as I love being in London, I’m still a SoCal girl at heart and the beach is still one of the best places in the world. We first visited the Royal Pavilion, where the royals would spend their time when visiting Brighton. After that, it was off to the beach! We all hung around the pier, grabbed some fish and chips, indulged in ice cream after, and explored. Just being by the ocean again rejuvenated me and really got me pumped for beach weather back at home. The beach itself is quite rocky, however, it didn’t bother me too much since we only we’re on them for a short while. The city itself is so quaint, almost reminding me of San Fransisco with all its shops and bustling streets. It was a lovely day and a great way to transition back to my life back in California.
Saturday, I went over to my cousins to visit once more. I had not gone for awhile since I was so busy as well as them. We all chatted and I spent time with my nieces, which was nice, especially with the amount of energy that they have since they are both so young. We played on their trampoline and it was a really awesome way to unwind. I feel much closer to my family with this trip and am so grateful for their support all this time.
That was week 11 for you! I can’t wait for what the next few weeks have in store for me! Cheers 🙂
